Long-time Alliance Art Gallery member Ron Cook continues to be very popular among visitors. Always exploring new dimensions of pottery, he increasingly couples art with function. Glazes, rather than enveloping the piece, now unfold—one color into another, including a new use of purple. New functional shape emerge … a cup set on an angle, a ragged rim to a vase, a slender tall sculptural piece, a bowl abruptly divided into two. Everyone loves the surprising new additions he brings to the Gallery.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 9 from 4 until 7:00. A piece of Ron's pottery will be given away during a free drawing that will be held at 6:30. You do not need to be present for the drawing...just stop in anytime during the day and fill out a ticket!
