We are very happy to announce that our featured artist for November will be Lana Ewing-Van Hove.
A native of Elvaston, Illinois, now living in Roscoe, Illinois, Ewing-VanHove is a self-taught jeweler. She began beading over 20 years ago and is now recognized for her fun, fresh, colorful, often dramatic work.
Ewing-VanHove began making bracelets for herself as a hobby exploring styles she found refreshing. Soon friends and colleagues noticed her original jewelery and requested pieces for themselves. As her commissions grew so did her evolving techniques and materials. Guided by gifted mentors she discovered her flair for large, dramatic pieces often created from found objects and one of a kind artists beads. Over the years Ewing-VanHove has worked with Swarovski crystal, blown glass, sterling silver and flat wear turning individual items into bracelets, earrings, necklaces and assorted other projects. One of the joys she finds in creating individual jewelry is the happiness that is passed on those who buy her work. Feeling that each creation tells it's own story, Ewing-VanHove patiently waits for each piece to speak to just the right person.
An exhibit of her work will open on Saturday, November 8, with a reception beginning from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue through December 5.
